Q: As a business leader and the CEO of AdaptX, what are you most excited for in the remainder of 2023?
A: AdaptX is in a unique position to catalyze solutions for the biggest issues facing health systems. Hospitals are faced with pressing financial needs and clinician burnout. Our self-serve clinical management solution empowers clinical leaders to leverage their data to increase capacity, reduce clinician burnout, improve health equity, and drive quality. It’s a really exciting place for us to be.
Q: What is one takeaway from the last 12 months that stands out to you as a leader?
A: A key takeaway for me is how important it is to empower our people and then give them the space and support they need to be creative and successful. With our customers, our focus is on empowering clinicians to leverage their own data to transform the way they manage treatments and workflows. We’ve found that giving them the tools and support to be creative is an important component of their success. The same is true internally at AdaptX. We’ve brought some really fantastic and talented people onto the AdaptX team, and as the CEO, it’s my job to empower them with the support and space they need so they can be creative in driving our business forward to achieve our vision.
Q: How has AdaptX’s customer base evolved? How do you see it evolving over the next five years?
A: AdaptX got our start empowering clinicians in the operating rooms of a pediatric hospital. We have now grown to serve clinicians across a spectrum of hospitals from small Critical Access Hospitals to enormous Academic Medical Centers. Our products have also expanded to cover every environment of care across a health system.
Over the next several years, our products will continue to evolve, and we look forward to serving more and more health systems of every kind. But, our core mission won’t ever change – AdaptX empowers clinical leaders to transform care thru Adaptive Clinical Management!
Q: How has your leadership changed over the last year? How are you continuing to grow as a leader moving forward?
A: I think a key piece of leading a high-growth company is to constantly reevaluate the way I’m supporting our team. Over the last year, we’ve grown as a team, strengthened relationships with our customers, extended our products, and focused on building our business. As a result, our team has new opportunities and challenges, and part of my job is to step back and evaluate how I can best serve our people. Moving forward, I want to spend more time and energy making sure we’ve got the right systems and support in place so that we can continue to scale. What that means may be different six months down the line, and flexibility, specifically, needs to be part of our process to accomplish this. I’ve learned that it’s crucial to have ways to candidly discuss where we are and to relentlessly evaluate our performance.
